ChrisK
Deeply involved in music at a very young age, Chris was influenced by a wide variety of musical genres and subgenres. though his tastes were shaped by his parents music (soul, rock, disco), Chris was searching for his own path and style. by age 12, he had been a part of a very successful band as a drummer, mainly playing covers of old rock, soul, salsa, and rock en Español. this may have narrowed his musical horizons temporarily, but he soon found that there was much more exploration to be done. as time progressed, so did Chris' musical tastes. although always a fan of rock, he craved freshness and diversity and began spending massive amounts of time and money on his aural obsession. his CD collection became affluent and extensive, covering a multitude of genres. in his teenage years, Chris was a part of the Los Angeles traditional ska scene (he hates ALL third wave ska punk/skacore crap, and isn't huge on two tone either). from here Chris discovered further what this music influenced; rocksteady, reggae, dub, and dancehall. heavily influenced by these styles of Jamaican music, he decided they were just what he'd been looking for. sometime around 1998, prior to abandoning the institution of state-sanctioned schooling, Chris had been introduced to the electronic music and rave culture. while the rave culture didn't sit well with him at first, the electronic bug was successfully planted. true to his roots in soul, he gravititated towards breakbeat-oriented forms of electronic music. upon hearing drum and bass, Chris couldn't quite pinpoint what he was hearing. before his exposure to the complex drum patterns and basslines that no human could replicate, he was just another organic music snob. he'd written off electronic music as not music at all but empty, soulless, programmed noise. he was proven wrong, and never looked back. in 1999 Chris began DJ'ing without an alias. as he had no real aspirations to make it as a DJ, he decided to play solely for himself. in the long run, it paid off. while he developed his talent, he came to know a great many faces in the scene and eventually realized that this was his only passion in life. in 2001, Chris experienced a few life-changing events that encouraged him to move forward and motivated him to capture his feelings audibly. the resulting mixes include a great many that will never be mentioned here, as they were never made available. he discovered that his emotions were best conveyed with sound, he continued to hone his skills and build his record collection until he'd found a sound he was satisfied with, albeit you'd never know from watching him shopping for tunes. Chris continues to push the boundaries of his art through continued releases and collaborations with relentless audio artists and the fourth level collective. his only goal is self-expression, which he pursues tirelessly.
Chaos in Motion
The name .Com has been an established name in the Los Angeles Drum and Bass community since 1997. Getting his start with www.junglevoodoo.com by reviewing parties and mix tapes; .Com was able to quickly establish connections with both promoters and like minded talent. In late 1997, .Com purchased his first set of 1200’s and a couple crates worth of hip hop and drum and bass. Starting slow with house parties and friends bbq’s .Com quickly became very well known in smaller circles of the L.A. jungle scene. After a couple years of paying dues in the opening slots, .Com and his wife Anaya decided it was time to establish a club that was based solely on local talent, Evolve was then born. After a year worth of success the two decided it was time to close the club down. The time for the club to make a difference had passed, and an onslaught of new clubs had arrived on the scene. This was a multi-part decision as .Com’s producing was starting to take off at the same time. There was not enough time to promote and be in the studio. After the end of Evolve .Com starting producing more than ever before, keeping his self in the studio for days on end. At the same time he also started promoting himself outside of Los Angeles and was getting bookings on the regular in Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, Monterey, etc.. .Com was starting to get a lot of attention on his tracks from dj’s all over the United States. At this time some of the notable artists playing .Com dub plates and tunes would be: R.A.W., Dj. K, Oscar Da Grouch, U-Ome, Jayvon, Unit, Arson, Choppa, MK Ultra, The Punisher, Audio1, etc.. Now that .Com has taken the dive into production he has assumed the production alias of “Chaos In Motion”. You can find all of his current releases at www.raggarecords.com. The relentless devotion to the progression of the sound will certainly keep .Com busy in the studio for some time to come. If you get a chance, catch this man in action as his tunes carry enough energy to lift the dance floor up at 4 in the morning.

Jayvon
The jungles massive may have made its way back to the underground, but Jayvon spins it like he's in the main room of your local super-club." -URB Magazine Vol.14 No.122, December 2004 Within the last year Jayvon has risen from virtual obscurity to being on the tip of everyone's tongue. Within his first year of playing out, Jayvon has opened up for Andy C, Hive, and Adam F, the demand for his performance has even extended to out of state, all the while spinning frequently at hot, local events. Due to his accessible, dance-floor style, this DJ even gets love from non-DnB electronic music industry leaders. Jayvon was a runner up for BPM Magazine's "Bedroom DJ Contest" and he has been a guest DJ, as well as a contest runner up for KPWR-FM Power 106 Los Angeles' "Powertools" radio show-both of which are mainly dominated by the likes of House and Trance music. Since the release of his CD, local 'zine "Jointz" and even "URB Magazine" have written enthusiastic reviews of "Basswhore". As a general music enthusiast, Jayvon's interest and abilities naturally reach beyond just Drum and Bass. For six years he has spun Hip Hop and R&B as a club DJ and has even won many DJ competitions. In 1999, after only one year of DJ-ing experience, he beat Ludacris' DJ in Jermain Dupri's So So Def's DJ Competition, securing first place in the process. Jayvon has also made a fan out of DJ Q-Bert, arguably the world's finest Turntablist, who bumps Jayvon's mixes on the regular. Speaking of Q-Bert, Jayvon has also appeared in one of his Instructional DVD's, ("Do It Yourself DVD 2", which is available at DJ stores across the world!) where he exhibits his smooth and fluid scratching style.
DJ Unit
Unit aka Kelly Newman is no stranger to the decks by far. He has been spinning records since high school. He started off spinning top 40 hip hop and dance at the local bars on off nights to perfect his skills and timing. After a brief period of skill development he quickly moved on to headlining drum and bass events and raves in LA and other cities nation wide. Unit is very well known for always bringing heat to the stage when he steps up to bat with his bag of goodies. His energy behind the decks has garnished him the attention of promoters all over the west coast as well as select promoters in Texas and the East Coast. With a mind blowing track selection and seamless mixing he has proven himself time and time again to be able to hang with the big boys. He has warmed the stage up for many of the games top players and has playe alongside some of the biggest mc's to grace the microphone. Unit linked up with the Just Plain Positive family out of Philadelphia the latter part of 2000 and was put on a roster that includes dj’s from all across the states, Canada and the UK. He has also been in the studio countless hours and is currently working on tracks for his new labels Warcamp Records and Relentless Audio. Unit has also spent the last year networking with other producers in his local area and the U.S. He has collected signature dub plates from some of the top producers in the game. By doing this Unit has added a new level of uniqueness to his mixing and performing. Unit has a wide array of styles and plays to the crowds liking, reading the faces of the crowd and responding to their every move. Depending on the mood he can set a mellow tone for the early evening massive or he can drop the rolling bass lines and smashing amens as the night heads toward a chaotic climax. Whatever the flavor of the evening, there is a place in the line up for Unit.
